Those are useful design distinctions, but they do not by themselves define thickness, structural capacity or lifespan. Use the building style and roof geometry to narrow the profile choice, then specify measurable technical requirements for the selected system. A school, warehouse and luxury duplex can all use metal roofing, but the correct lengths, supports, insulation, drainage and accessory details can be very different.

Compare complete quantities before comparing price
Profiles can create different cutting, handling and waste patterns on the same roof. A highly complex roof with many short planes may not reward a long-sheet strategy in the same way as a broad simple roof.
